Sometimes little things can make you happy for a quite long time.

One child we support, Zakia, seem very sad yesterday. After some discussions she opened up and told us with tears that her mother want to cut her hair. But she loves her hair a lot and she didn’t want it to be cut. I asked her if I could talk to her mother and she agreed.

After asking her mother, why she wanted to cut Zakias hair, her mother told us that they cannot afford that much shampoo. It is simply to expensive to maintain such long hair.

Today we bought shampoos and conditioners, for several months, and we gifted it to her.
She was happy again.

We also made 10-year-old Mahin a little bit happier. He loves to paint. His hennas are the best in the area and his drawings are simply great. He is very talented. Unfortunately he didn’t have any paints and pencils.

We gave him a nice present with new paints and pencils.

Maria Cristina Foundation is helping children in Bangladesh for many years. Through all these years, there are many children who become young adults. As young adults they have different problems and different needs.
We spent the last day of our visit in Bangladesh with these young men and women.

We basically had two workshops.

The first workshop was dedicated to job searches, applications for jobs, how to create a good CV, how to be successful in a job interview, non-verbal communication, verbal communication, career and other related topics. Besides theoretical parts we showed them lots of examples and we played different role-plays.

It was very educative and fun at the same time.

The second workshop was related to social and ethical topics that are important for young adults.
We continued our discussions during dinner.

Nice 7 hours with all those boys and girls came to an end, and our trip to Dhaka, too.
Tomorrow, early in the morning we have to leave the city and fly back to Dubai.

Unfortunately we were not able to fulfill our major task. We are still missing many pictures for the exhibition.
On the other hand, it’s good like that.
Now we have a big reason to come again, very soon. ☺
We are so happy that we made lots of new friends and that we were able to help at least a little bit.
